Man rejected for police job in Cheshire, UK, for being white

Matthew Furlong won an employment tribunal case, which found Cheshire Police had discriminated against him on the grounds of sexual orientation, race and sex. Cheshire Police were criticized in 2015 for having no black officers.

Why does one's race or sex matter? Just hire the best person for the job. If that means there are no black hires, for example, then so be it.
