Trump’s climate panel head once said CO2 is maligned like ’Jews under Hitler’

The White House has picked William Happer as the chair of a panel that will seek to determine whether climate change poses a threat to national security. Happer, a retired Princeton physics professor, rejects mainstream climate science and has claimed a rise in carbon emissions should be viewed as an asset. Happer likened maligning of CO2 to the ’demonization of the poor Jews under Hitler’.

Interesting how more and more scientist come out against “climate change.” The only ones that seem to support it are the ones getting paid to find it bad. just take look at Al Gore.

Hyperbole aside, he has a point about the demonization tactics. Such as journalists referring to CO2 as a pollutant.

I say good call on Trump's part. now all of the climate change activists have to convince the head with actual facts. For example, if it's carbon that is the problem, give an accurate count of the biggest carbon emitters (volcanos). Here's hint: they can't.

you guys in the comments would be shitting all over this guy if he made the same reference but was on the other side of the fence. come on fellas, nothing wrong with being a sceptic but this bias is nauseating

what makes co2 bad? it's the boogie man taking the fall for the real pollutants like methane and ozone.

Four paragraphs in before Bloomberg mentions he's got a PhD in physics from an Ivy back when that meant something. And the Hitler/ Holocaust metaphors are pretty pervasive so I'm not really phased by it. The NYT compared (post-Obama) border separation to Nazism.

He's not wrong. The Earth's atmosphere is 78 percent nitrogen, 21 percent oxygen and 1 percent other gases, including about 0.04 percent carbon dioxide. Earth's CO2 concentration stood at 400 parts per million in May 2015.

I love they call him "anti-science". Right but men can be women because they say so and babies are only babies if tue other says so. insert breaking bad "Yeah... Science Bitch!!!"

It's okay if democrats are anti-semetic, but if a Trumper associates something with Jews he is evil and must he removed.

God these journalists are the true obstructionists towards practical STEM & R&D. I’m hoping the age of corporate journalism dies in the following decade.

Lol. Is he the underdog of science? Nope, just someone who denies already established data, which is not science. But the confirmation bias is strong here so I digress

Well of all the green house gases for sure it is put a pedestal for eradication! People forget plants actual require cO2 to grow. Atmospheric water is also a green house gas and Methane is 100 times more effective as a green house gas, as AOC correctly identified cows must stop farting!😂

Ever wonder if humans just got too centralized and that's the reason this is so bad? CO2, last I recall from my high school biology classes, is "inhaled" by plants and converted back into oxygen. If cities have few parks to offset the CO2 output, the rest has to go somewhere, so it warms the atmosphere which makes the harsher weather conditions we see. But all that weather is doing is making the earth richer for the plants which will in turn grow and evolve under a more accommodating environment, thus balancing out in the long run when plants output more oxygen. "What about the growing deserts?" How do you think western frontier became so green? irrigation and fertilizer. But no one has been working the land near the deserts for so long that the desert is taking back it's space. The same has happened around the Nile in Egypt. So it may be that we need to revitalize the small towns and make them bigger while bringing NYC size class of cities down enough that people see fewer skyscrapers and more trees. This will allow more CO2 to be caught up in the cycle before it can ascend to our ozone. "transportation will make up on greenhouse gasses" not if we keep trending electric with our vehicles. there's already electric trucks out there, we just need to get them into a more affordable range.
