Drug company executives testify before Senate

Senators called drug pricing practices ’morally repugnant’ and told drug company executives they do not want to hear them blame others for the high prices a Senate hearing on Tuesday. Senators took aim in particular at Abbvie CEO Richard Gonzalez and his company’s rheumatoid arthritis drug Humira. The drug has a list price of more than $60,000 a year, nearly double what it was in 2014.

It will be interesting to see just how tough on Big Pharm these bought and paid for politicians will be. Free market Big Pharm is all about jacking up the price of drugs. I was recently put on a blood thinner you see advertised on TV for life. The retail price is over $600 a month. For a pill that costs a few dollars to make. I would bet you the advertising budget far exceeds the R&D on this product.

I will be interested in seeing how touch these pieces of trash will be on their pimps from Big Pharma. Pharmaceutical executives are demons on earth.
