Indonesian Navy submarine with 53 on board goes missing during drill

The Indonesian Navy said one of its submarines went missing during a drill off the Bali coast. The submarine had 53 sailors on board. First Admiral Julius Widjojono said they had lost contact with the 43-year-old German-built submarine early Wednesday morning. Hadi Tjahjanto, the commander of the Indonesian armed forces, said the submarine was believed to be in waters about 700 meters deep.
