Tokyo Olympics set to ban Black Lives Matter ’taking the knee’ protests

A survey has been backed by the IOC in which the Athletes’ Commission was surveyed to find that most of them backed the banning of displays of propaganda termed to be either political, racial or religious. Since the Black Lives Matter protests that occurred last summer, soccer players have been taking a knee before matches. The same policy was also adopted by other sports as well.

I mean, an international competition such as this should not include domestic politics, time and place, but I do wonder what would happen if the IOC said this about a right wing cause. I’m sure then we’d see a lot of “muh freedom of speech” anger and the whole martyr complex the right has about being silenced. But, surprisingly, I haven’t seen a ton of upset from the left about this, which is interesting, and telling both because of that very reason, and because of how low the expectations I have for ideologues is
