New Zealand says Islamic State recruit to remain citizen

New Zealand said Monday its citizen detained in Syria after joining the IS militant group will not be stripped of his nationality but could face criminal charges if he returns. Mark Taylor, who traveled to Syria in 2014, has said he expected to face time in prison if he returned to New Zealand. PM Jacinda Ardern said Taylor’s joining the group was illegal and could have legal ramifications.
