Pope announces opening of secret archives of wartime pontiff Pius XII

Pope Francis announced on Monday that he has decided to open fully the Vatican’s secret archives on the wartime pontificate of Pope Pius XII. Some Jews have long been seeking access to the files. They accused Pius, who reigned from 1939 to 1958, of turning a blind eye to the Holocaust during World War II by not speaking out forcefully. The archives will open on March 2, 2020.

why not open the entire Vatican secret archives? Unless they're holding on to something pretty damning in there (wink, wink, nudge, nudge)

Hi Hitler, Pope here. Yeah, so you're getting rid of the Jews? Hey listen, I got some fat tithes coming through German churches, so if I pretend that you aren't marching millions to their deaths, can I keep collecting? Besties Forever! Pope out!

I have a feeling that nothing crazy is going to come out from the files, otherwise there would be no reason to even bring them up and out. I’m guessing it will just be the pope trying to figure out what to do, when every time he did speak out against them, the German Forces went into a heavily Catholic area and murdered everyone.
