YouTube adds feature to fact-check viral conspiracy videos and fake news

YouTube is launching a new information panel that will appear when users search for controversial topics. The text boxes will appear at the top of search results and will offer fact checks from verified partners to help combat the spread of misinformation. The feature is launching first in India and will be available in Hindi and English.

I hope they do not misuse this app. People actually think Snopes.com is an unbiased fact checker, when in reality they are skewing the truth to their own leftist agenda.

Let's "fact check" the right, meanwhile socialism is good and refugees welcome are fine and Cathington were racists and CNN never lies! Yeah, "fact checkers" are just as biased as any other news source.

Yeah like the way they say RT is partly funded by the Russian state? Or the Chinese one (whatever it’s name is it escapes me) is funded by them. While conveniently forgetting the BBC is literally funded by the British tax payer, no YouTube, fuck you.

Curious if we will be "fact checked" for looking up the science on sexual dimorphism, sort of like how Twitter fact checked Megan Murphy for saying "men aren't women".

Sounds like sensor ship and control under the guise of being helpful, people can weigh evidence themselves, we don’t need big brother thinking for us. This dystopian future, is already here in the UK, as you can get arrested for saying the wrong thing, 1984, brave new world. No, it’s control of the masses by the few who have the money and resources.

Didn't Google director just get busted for trying to skew results against Republicans... this must be one of their projects. Calling something truth or the honest report doesn't make it so...

This will only mean people will vote on what's true. That's not a good idea.
