Woman charged in 1981 death of newborn found in ditch

A woman in South Dakota was charged Friday in the death of a newborn who was abandoned in a ditch 38 years ago. Police used DNA and genealogy sites to determine Theresa Rose Bentaas was the baby’s mother. Bentaas told authorities that she had hidden her pregnancy and gave birth while alone in her apartment. She then drove the baby to the area he was later discovered.

“The baby was alive when he was placed in a ditch in a cornfield in what was then rural Sioux Falls and "slowly succumbed to exposure." What an evil cunt.

If I read correctly the search warrant was obtained from a warrantless search of the DNA service's data. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad for the closure. I remember "Andrew " from my childhood. However, the intrusive way the evidence should bother us. Open conversation about complex, gray issues like this should be where our focus lies, instead of tribalism. That seems like a pipe dream though.

Awww, she felt "sad and stupid" as she drove way. Boo-hoo. I say tie her into that ditch and leave her to die with tears frozen onto her cheeks.
