Woman crosses zoo barrier to take a selfie with a jaguar, is attacked

A visitor to the Arizona zoo sustained non-life-threatening injuries after she crossed a zoo barrier to take a photo. The jaguar reached out and slashed her arm. This is the second time in a month that an incident had occurred, but nothing will happen to the jaguar. At no time was it outside of its enclosure. The guest simply did not stay at a safe distance.

The title is misleading, she was only attacked because she crossed the barrier. While people like to think the animals in a zoo are tame, more and more zoos are trying to keep them as much as possible in their natural habitat, even in regards of how they get their food. Bottom line don’t cross barriers at zoos and everything will be fine.
