Trump proposes a record $4.75 trillion budget

The White House released a $4.7 trillion budget Monday. The budget proposed sharply reducing spending on safety-net and many discretionary government programs, while boosting defense and border-protection funding. The plan asks for $8.6 billion to build a wall on the border with Mexico, more than six times what Congress gave President Trump for border projects in each of the past two fiscal years.

I do think that the US should cut the national debt but what to cut is an issue. I think when it comes to education we should cut gender studies. It's a waste of time in my opinion. When it comes to the military it's just best if just get out of the Middle East if they don't want our type of government. Social security I don't know because cutting it will just cause problems if we did.

It's about GD time! Cut all these ridiculous entitlement programs, educational grants to these indoctrination Mills we call colleges, bailouts to big businesses and bailouts to states that spend like drunken Marxists (California for example) and we would have plenty of money to start paying down the debt.

Unpopular opinion: We need to end Social Security. The only why to do this is for a generation to say, "Ok, we are paying onto SS, but will not benefit from it ourselves."

it's a political football. if they were so concerned about the debt and deficit they wouldn't have cut taxes on the rich and corporations and they definatly wouldn't have added as much as they did to the already bloated military spending.

Government debt is taxation without representation on future generations and should be completely done away with. This is the time to reform and cut entitlements. The economy is strong record employment. I do have reservations about cuts to healthcare programs.

Keep spending more on military, ramp up tensions with Iran and Venezuela so we'll have two more wars, keep cutting taxes for the rich, keep giving fossil fuel subsidies, keep raising tariffs, keep giving foreign aid to dozens of countries, keep building infrastructure in iraq and afghan. Looks pretty serious to me.

Cut entitlements!

Lmfao. Google our three biggest expenditures: Medicare/ Medicaid, Defense, and Social Security. None of those sacred cows will ever be gutted. We could bury the EPA, Dept of Education, and Dept of Energy and it would hardly make a dent. Non-discretionary spending and a democracy building abroad are killing us.

I recommend cutting navy and small arms although some of those resources should be diverted to the imperial space force. Make up the rest of the gap by reducing transfer payments allocated to the rich.

just keep that debt growing and hope to not be the party in power when things get messy seems to be what both parties are actually doing.

Oh course he does. Criminals will be criminals and the US citizens will continue to live an apathetic and complacent life until the wealthy class literally brand them as property! PATHETIC!
