Israel PM convenes military brass after apparent rocket fire

Israel’s prime minister has reportedly convened an urgent meeting with senior military officials following a rocket attack on Tel Aviv from the Gaza Strip. The Israeli military claimed that two rockets were apparently fired from Gaza, setting off air raid sirens in Israel’s commercial capital. It was the first time Tel Aviv has been targeted since 2014.

The last time this occurred (2014 I think), the Australian ABC reported "Israel breaks cease fire in response to Rockets fired from Gaza".....wait what....yep Israel not the Palestines broke the cease fire.

Are the Israelis firing these fire works themselves, to excuse their disproportionate response?

I was wondering about the first attack. It said that the initial rockets weren't shot down and the Iorn dome rockets self detonated. This almost makes it look staged and with the PM coming up for re-election it would look good for him to be defending Israel. However rocket attacks are par for the course with Hamas. It dosen't seem to matter now though since more attacks have been launched by both sides already.
