US job openings increase by 102,000 in January

Job openings in the US, a measure of labor demand, rose by 102,000 to a seasonally adjusted 7.58 million. That was not too far from a record high of 7.63 million touched in November. The job openings rate rose to 4.8 per cent from 4.7 per cent in December. Hiring rose to 5.80 million from 5.72 million in December.
