Trump issues first veto to protect border emergency declaration

President Trump rejected a bill Friday that would end the national emergency he declared at the southern US border. The veto is Trump’s first since he entered the White House. The veto came a day after the GOP-controlled Senate dealt a blow to Trump, with 12 Republicans joining Democrats in voting to terminate his emergency declaration.

Even Trump said it was not an emergency when he said he didn't have to do it.

Clearly the problem is all the people with no money and no power. It's definitely not all the people with all the money and all of the power that are creating all the problems. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Disgusting abuse of power. After he said himself that it wasn’t an emergency.

You have to admit, the Republicans played their votes well, letting their most endangered members vote no, but keeping just enough so the president could use his veto.
