Deaths at these rates are odd, especially at a race course.

Do they have a farrier and a vet on site? My buddy in Texas would be calling this a genocide!

So, there is a problem. I skimmed a couple of these articles. Are these horses just up and dyeing or are they a getting injured and being put down? Thank articles only note one being put down What are they testing the dirt for? PETA, who I can't stand, says it's injured horses being drugged and running injured. That makes sense, if they're testing the dirt for compaction, which happens in rain when you plow dirt.

A lot of injuries and horses euthanized. Rehabilitation for horses is expensive and they may never race again.... or properly walk. I understand these horses are insured and putting them down provides owners some compensation.
