Beto O’Rourke raises $6.1 million in first 24 hours of 2020 campaign

Beto O’Rourke raised $6.1 million in the first day after declaring his candidacy for his party’s 2020 presidential nomination. His fundraising puts him at the top of a Democratic pack of more than a dozen candidates. Bernie Sanders had raised $5.9 million in the first 24 hours of his 2020 campaign. O’Rourke had raised a record $38.1 million in his 2018 effort to unseat Sen. Ted Cruz.

Remember when Hillary had billions? Also what's up with his poems? That guy seems not OK mentally.

He's not to be dismissed, but I just can't see him winning the primary. The amount raised is impressive though.

He doesn't even tell you what his positions are. the only candidate where that is not outlined on their website. So why would anyone vote for him when we have so many others whose position is clear and they aren't selling leftover 2018 merch?

I'm surprised how he was able to raise $6.1 million. I would be curious the average donation made to him.

I should run for president as a Democrat, seems like a quick way (~2 years work) of getting rich.

Beto has released no proof nor has he shown where his donations are coming from. Unlike Bernie Sanders who showed where his donations were coming from on DAY ONE! The world cannot afford another corporate POTUS period. Bernie is the only logical choice.

Bernie Sanders raised a similar amount with over 200,000 people donating. Since Beto seems to be the corporate favorite along with Kamala Harris I willing to bet Beto has a lot fewer 200,000 people who contributed to his campaign. If Beto will release his donations record as ALL other candidates have then we can see for ourselves what we already know. Beto is supported by big money meaning: to put it simply he is corrupt and will NOT fight for average Americans which is over 80 percent of us. Nice try to the criminal elite but we are not falling for it again. By again I mean: Trump, Obama, Bush, and Clinton who ALL hurt the average American while giving unruly gains to the wealthiest families. Americans are waking up and smelling the corporate elitist propaganda. Bernie or Tulsi are our ONLY NON CORRUPT CHOICES! Good luck America.

He’s polling at like 5%. What are the other numbers? How many and how much per? I know he’s got big money behind him. Not grassroots.

The image of him holding a protest against the wall at one of Trumps rallies, while protecting his protest with walls he put up, will always stay with me. Hilarious. Roll on the primaries :)

He and his wife both come from wealthy families with connections to the fossil fuel industry. The dollar amount is as unsurprising as his unwillingness to release the number of donors or average dollar donations.
