Investigators find ’similarities’ between Ethiopian and Lion Air crashes

Investigators have said the crash of an Ethiopian Airlines plane that killed 157 people had ’clear similarities’ with October’s Lion Air crash in Indonesia. Both planes were MAX 8s, and both crashed minutes post take-off after pilots reported flight control problems.

there is speculation that the updated autopilot in the max8 is cutting out pilot input during a stall recovery maneuver, causing the aircraft to maintain a pitch down despite attempts to correct by the pilot. at this point I can't verify what happened but this seems likely, as all the pilots were experienced and the aircraft where all the newest Max 8s.
