Poppy-viewing crowds overwhelm Southern California city

Nearly 150,000 people flocked to see this year’s rain-fed orange patches of poppies lighting up the hillsides near the Southern California city of Lake Elsinore. However, the surge in people resulted in traffic going out of control to the point that Lake Elsinore officials requested law enforcement assistance from neighboring jurisdictions.

Makes me sick seeing people swarming over natural wonders like this, littering, carrying things off. Making places like this accessible was a mistake, you should have to work for it. Keeps the riff raff out. I understand that cuts off disabled people, but at least they could look at photos, at the current rate these places will be gone or closed off to everyone.
