Mexico’s Popocatepetl volcano spews hot rock, ash

Mexico’s active Popocatepetl volcano exploded on Monday, sending ash and debris high into the air and several kilometers away from the crater. The 5,426 meter volcano has been particularly active in recent months. Authorities have issued a yellow alert warning, asking residents to stay clear of the area within a 12 kilometer radius of the crater.
