Danish lawmaker is told, ’Babies not welcome in parliament’

A Danish lawmaker said on Tuesday that she was ordered to remove her infant daughter from parliament’s chamber. Speaker Pia Kjaersgaard allegedly told MP Mette Abildgaard to remove her daughter, insisting again later that ’MPs should be in the chamber, not babies or children’. Kjaersgaard said clear rules would be issued on the subject.

Agreed. And may I ask if any man has taken his baby to a legislative session? I am happy for women to enter traditionally make fields, but you should not treat your job as a baby sitting service, nor treat your office like your home.
