Jury finds Monsanto’s Roundup caused a man’s cancer

A jury in San Francisco found Monsanto’s Roundup herbicide was a substantial factor in causing the cancer of a California man. Edwin Hardeman, 70, of Santa Rosa was the first person to challenge Monsanto in a federal trial, alleging that his exposure to Roundup caused him to develop non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma (NHL). Hardeman’s case is considered a ’bellwether’ trial for hundreds of other plaintiffs.

Saw a great interview with one of Monsanto's folks who claimed the stuff was safe enough to drink, the interviewer pulled out a glass of Roundup and set it in front of the guy, who refused to drink it. But kept saying it was safe to drink.

I am curious. Let's approach this from a logical perspective. If Roundup causes cancer, then either glyohosate causes cancer or something else in the Roundup causes cancer, as Glyohosate is in Roundup, but Glyohosate itself is not roundup. Let's for a moment assume, without bringing forth any evidence, that Glyohosate does not cause cancer but Roundup. If Roundup is causing cancer, but Glyohosate doesn't, then something else inside Roundup must be causing cancer. The issue is, I never hear this argument being discussed, yet it seems a very important one.

California, the same state that is having droughts because they refuse to build water runoff storage pools. Rapid rail to nowhere is $6 billion dollars more important than agriculture and drinking water to these people and you think your going to find jurors from this pool of people that are going to be able to adjudicate science in a court of law and find truth. How bad has it gotten that Monsanto seems like the reasonable party here. Insanity at its best, thanks California.

Yes. That's how we should determine questions of biology and medicine. In court. None of you know what cancer is, how pesticides are used in modern agriculture, how genetics works, or anything else related to this topic, but you still pontificate like you have any idea what you're talking about. You're all retarded, and I hate you.

Seed, does it matter in the short term what Chemical in Roundup causes cancer. Isn't that a long term problem for Monsanto to figure out and correct.

Why was this decided by a jury? This should be the work of biochemists, botanists, oncologists, etc.
