Auschwitz Memorial urges visitors to show respect

The Auschwitz Memorial on Wednesday urged tourists to be mindful while visiting the historic site. They condemned the use of the train tracks to practice walking on ’a balance beam’. Alongside the tweet, the memorial posted a handful of photos that depicted visitors walking along the track.

I understand the point to the decision, but if we are so offended be it.. get rid of the tracks... I'm certain photos will do just fine.

Guess what, it's a tourist attraction, people will be disrespectful. If you don't like it, restrict access.

Same with the holocaust memorial in Berlin. That square full of concrete slabs. people hang around and on them and scribble graffiti on then and make selfies all the time. Disrespectful as hell but what do you expect will happen.
