Taiwan leader on diplomatic mission

Taiwan president Tsai Ing-wen will engage on a eight day visit to three diplomatic allies ending at Hawaii. She will travel on Thursday, 21 March, to visit Palan Naru and the Marshall Islands. Amongst dwindling allies, only 17 developing countries still recognize Taiwan as a sovereign nation. The move is likely to anger China, which claims the self-ruled islands as its own.
