GoFundMe pulls antivaccine campaigns from platform

GoFundMe is joining the list of online platforms to cut off proponents of anti-vaccine related content. The company said on Friday that any campaigns created on the website that promote ’misinformation’ about vaccines automatically get shut down for violating its terms of service.

If your main premise can be disproved, your movement doesn't need to be banned. This sets a dangerous precedent. I disagree the the anti-vax movement very strongly, but having specific ideas should not cause you to be banned from anything. This is tantamount to thought crime.

And this is how you fuel conspiracy theories.

Why would GoFund Me care? A fool and their money are easily parted. If people want to stop vaccinations, or build a wall, or prove the world is round/flat, or prove climate change is real/fake. Let them! None of them will ever achieve what they want through a go fund me...at least not something so huge and ideological.

Censorship is the danger, not stupidity. Doctor's can simply make a public warning against snake oil pseudoscience quackery. The courts, when the lawsuits come in regarding damage and death, can assign large sentences and fines. But censorship does one thing only. Censorship makes matters worse, without exception. This needs the opposite of censorship this issue needs publication and broadcasting. pseudoscience nutters need to be called out not silenced.

Still no agenda here folks. We only silence the ones we don’t think you should waste your time hearing.

I don’t like how with the pro vax crowd how vaccinations are a ALL or nothing position. I support measles, mumps, chicken pox and polio vacs, but not flu and the other 30 vaccines given to babies and children with little or no research. That’s a drug cartel money racket in cooperation with governments.

here in australia. there was a meadia report that the whooping cough vaccine was causing damage to peoples immune system and its being modified to address the issue. so i guess they must be constantly assessing their impact. either way it should be free to discuss these issues without censorship. the west sems to be going backwards in regards to censorship

What the hell is an antivax campaign??? When you have a vaccine injured child and you can't afford the chronic treatments you've got to get money from somewhere. The "compensation program" takes several years to go over your case just like waiting for social security disability to go through. And even then 2 times out of 1 the govt rules against you. And fun fact vaccine manufacturers have 100% immunity from criminal, class action, or civil suits. Even if your child's adverse reaction caused him/her to be hooked up to an iron lung you STILL can't sue them at all. Hence Congress propped up the hush money racket the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program as of 1988. No one should be berated for asking for an individual vaccine schedule or even applying for medical exemption if need be. Funny how the general public has no problem rightfully slamming Big Pharma's long and documented history of abusing the public trust. Most recently the opioid crisis and in the past the Guatemala Experiment. And yet those same people think it's okay to coerce others into medical procedures against their informed consent. Mark of the beast coming to a neighborhood near you. And I'm not even Christian.

I am a little confused on how I think: Should it be allowed under free speech(idk something like that) or since the Anti- Vax movement has been very well disapproved and it also badly effects countries. You know...like bringing back diseases we had almost eradicated from our lives.

I think anti vaxxers are goofy. But censoring them. Seriously, why do we have to be “protected”? Government is not our mom.

I kind of understand why with whooping cough spreading and measles. Pro disease types help those same diseases come back and spread.
