Former trooper who was convicted in Taser-related death loses appeal

The conviction and sentence of a former state trooper who shot a Taser at a Detroit teenager was affirmed by the Michigan Court of Appeals. Mark Bessner, the former state trooper killed the Detroit teenager, and tried to chip away at his involuntary manslaughter conviction, arguing that a Wayne County trial judge excluded evidence that would have helped his defense, among other issues.

A useful reminder to everyone that Tasers are not a non-lethal option and if a criminal ever takes possession of on and uses it against a cop, it is a justified response you use your firearm.
