Over 1,000 feared dead after cyclone slams into Mozambique

The death toll in a powerful storm and preceding floods in Mozambique could exceed 1,000, the president said on Monday. Eighty-four deaths have been confirmed so far as a result of Cyclone Idai. President Filipe Nyusi, following an aerial survey of the region, claimed villages had disappeared and bodies were floating in the water.
