Nearly 1.85 million people affected by cyclone in Mozambique, says UN

The disaster in the aftermath of Cyclone Idai in Mozambique has left some 1.85 million people in need of assistance. UN chief Antonio Guterres described Idai as ’an uncommonly fierce and prolonged storm’ calling it ’yet another alarm bell about the dangers of climate change’. The UN estimates $1 billion worth of infrastructure having been destroyed.
