EU to require speed limiters, driver monitors in new cars from 2022

The European Commission announced Tuesday that new cars sold in Europe after May 2022 will be required to have a variety of new safety technologies, including speed limiters. The commission expects the intelligent speed limiters could reduce fatalities on European roads by 20 per cent. The rules still need to be formally approved by the EU Parliament later this year.

Ah yes, stretch back for a nice sleepy long drive, with one less thing to have to worry about keeping you awake, along with lane change radar, automatic braking and adaptive cruise, it's sure going to make for relaxing long haul drives...zzzzz Just not so sure about the safety aspect though.. humans have a unique way of circumventing the odds regardless of the technology..
