Trump awards posthumous Medal of Honor to Army Staff Sgt. Trevor Atkins

President Trump, on Wednesday, awarded the Medal of Honor to a US Army staff sergeant killed when he subdued a suicide bomber in Iraq in 2007. Trump presented the medal to the family of Staff Sgt. Travis Atkins during a ceremony in the White House. Atkin’s son, Trevor, who was 11 at the time of his father’s death, received the medal for his father alongside other family members.

It gives me chills reading his story and thinking about his sacrifice, I just wish that this could be the last award we have to give to one of our best who died on foreign soil, half a world away from his home because politicians + corporate interests + suicidal ideology.
