US seeks UN sanctions against Pakistan terrorist group chief

The US, Britain and France stepped up a push for the UN Security Council to blacklist the head of Pakistan-based militant group Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) on Wednesday. This comes two weeks after China prevented an earlier move. The US circulated a resolution that would designate JeM leader Masood Azhar, subjecting him to an arms embargo, travel ban and asset freeze.
