Monsanto must pay California man $80 million in case tying weed killer to cancer

A federal court civil jury awarded a California man $80 million over his claim that the weed killer Roundup caused cancer. The six-person jury in San Francisco returned its verdict in favor of Edwin Hardeman, 70, who said he used Roundup products to treat poison oak, overgrowth and weeds on his property for years. Bayer, which acquired Monsanto last year, said it would appeal the verdict.

There seems to be conflicting evidence on this. I'm surprised they paid out https://jech.bmj.com/content/70/8/741

Hope this man is able to enjoy all $80,000,000 of it before he dies. I really hope he lives it up and still has enough left over for his family to die happily.

Shit why couldn't it be Florida? That'd make a great addition to the Florida Man challenge.
