George Clooney calls for hotels boycott over Brunei’s LGBT laws

Actor George Clooney has called for a boycott of nine hotels connected to the ruler of Brunei. This comes after Brunei enacted a law where gay sex will be punishable by death starting April 3. In an op-ed Clooney noted that a renewed boycott on the hotels would ’have little effect’ on Brunei’s death penalty law but he urged the public to stop funding the ’murder of innocent citizens’.

The left is finding itself in this position more and more often . It’s what happens when you ally yourself with a very conservative fascistic religion that is virtually impossible to reform, and practiced throughout the third world. They just keep embarrassing you.

Businessmen don't give a single bollock if a country is lining up crucified homosexuals along its highways so long as there's money to be made there, and Brunei i'm assuming can live off perfectly with plenty of wealth piling in just from Muslim millionaires and billionaires going there who don't give a damn about this a thousandfold more than Western businessmen, so George Clueless ain't gonna achieve much here. Ironically it's not even businessmen being corrupt which defeats his entire fart of a call here, but multiculturalism itself.

That's not very progressive of you, Clooney. Don't you know all cultures are beautiful, and thus are all equally deserving of respect? You should judge these people by their standards, not your own.

If many religious fanatics had their way the United States would have those same laws. Religion is mental illness that does not respond 2 medication.

Great to see Clooney stepping up and actually doing something instead of just flapping his pie hole. Wait... disregard my last comment.

I’m against any mistreatment of homosexuals but they only make up less than 2% of the population. Let’s keep things in perspective.
