Judge strikes down Trump administration’s offshore drilling decision

A judge ruled on Friday that President Trump exceeded his authority when he reversed bans on offshore drilling in vast parts of the Arctic Ocean and dozens of canyons in the Atlantic Ocean. The judge stated that presidents have the power under a federal law to remove certain lands from development but cannot revoke those removals. The American Petroleum Institute disagreed with the ruling.

How exactly can one president"lawfully" ban drilling, but another can't "lawfully" restore drilling?

Thank God for the courts especially when we have a ma in office who thinks he's an elected KING. The evisceration of democracy

That's not how executive orders work, counselor. If one president is given the executive power to decide on permits, which is what Obama used for the ban, his successor can tell the Interior to grant permits. If Congress hasn't said otherwise it's his right. These judges need to be removed for blatant favoritism.

Excellent job by this judge

This is a seriously flawed decision, either an Executive Order can make decision about a particular matter or it can't; saying it is only relevant on one side of a decision is clearly partisan and illegitimate use of judicial power. This is why the courts are losing the respect of the citizenry in the same manner as the media has.

Something people denied Trump of doing that I can actually agree with; nice.
