’Fetal heartbeat’ abortion ban approved by Georgia general assembly

’Fetal heartbeat’ abortion ban approved by Georgia general assembly

Georgia’s new governor Brian Kemp approves legislation to restrict abortions after a heartbeat in the fetus is detected, at approximately six weeks after conception.

"The legislation makes exceptions in the case of rape and incest — but only when the woman files a police report first, AP noted. It also allows exceptions for cases to save the mother's life or when it has been determined that the fetus has serious medical issues that would make it unviable outside the mother’s womb." Sounds reasonable, get the extreme cases out of the way then ban abortion.

I am conflicted when it comes to abortion. I'm all for killing kids, but I just can't stand the idea of giving women rights.

Hollywood stars have threatened to boycott acting rolls in Georgia. Good we didn't want your liberal propaganda anyway.

In 4 years the dems will be advocating aborting 1 year olds at this rate.

Yeah, now abortion mills will just say they didn't find a heartbeat. Abortion needs to be illegal, not regulated.

Pretty reasonable piece of legislation I say.

The Big Picture is that it is moral to value human life and immoral to treat human life as readily disposable. Progressives began their journey into immorality a hundred years ago with Margaret Sanger.

This bill is going to affect every aspect of every woman’s life in the state of Georgia. And let me be clear, women are going to die. Quoted form a lawmaker. This might be the most stupid comment ever from a lawmaker. I bet they represent Lilburn, GA

This may be an unpopular opinion, but I just don't think the government should be in the abortion business at all. We seem to be in a time when a large portion of society has absolutely no moral compass and therefore relies heavily on corrupt bureaucrats to decide right and wrong for them. All abortions laws do is degrade each individual's ability to make sound moral decisions based on their own set of principles. Abortions will happen whether you write a full ban into law or not.

Way to go Georgia. Saving lives. Now if we can just teach teenagers to to be responsible we can eliminate the need for abortion.
