Turkey’s Erdogan suffers setback after his party loses Ankara in local elections

Turkey’s President Tayyip Erdogan said that his party had lost some cities in Sunday’s mayoral elections. Erdogan pledged that his government would now focus on implementing strong economic plans. Turkey’s main opposition party appeared on course to seize control of Ankara in the local elections and defeat Erdogan’s AK Party in the capital for the first time in 16 years ago.

Erdogsn is one of those who is "democratically elected" once and stays for life.

I admit, I thought democracy was dead in Turkey. I will be watching this with great interest.
