After the Supreme Court blocked a Texas inmate’s execution because a Buddhist cleric wasn’t present at the execution, Texas has barred all clergy from attending executions.
Good. It's an execution, not a baptism.
If you make special exceptions for one or two religions, all the other religions are going to demand them. It's best to just take religion out of the situation entirely.
Buddhism does not categorize itself as a religion. This whole thing is BS.
That's pretty ignorant, but I expect nothing less from Texas. Every person has a right to spiritual council, and everyone has a right to refuse. Was this ban due to the fact it wasn't a Catholic priest? Highly prejudicial.
THe good news is this escaped convict will still DIE!!!
what about their invisible friends?
Am I missing something? Isn’t clergy ALL religions?
That's too bad, there's some clergy that do deserve to be in that chamber... to be executed.
