Cuba allows march by animal activists in possible first

Hundreds of Cubans marched peacefully through Havana calling for an end to animal cruelty on Sunday. The march is believed to be the first independent march authorized by the one-party state. The Communist government authorized ordinary citizens to stage the march and this could point to an expanding tolerance for Cubans to express their views and even make demands.

Kind of a strange priority in a place where the median monthly salary is $32 (converted to USD). Socialism is a crime against humanity, so it makes sense the ruling party has no problem diverting attention away from human well being.
