Hong Kong Occupy leaders found guilty for role in mass rallies

A Hong Kong court found leaders of the 2014 ’Occupy’ civil disobedience movement guilty on Tuesday of public nuisance charges during the mass protests. Scores of supporters clapped in support of the nine defendant, after the judge delivered his verdict. Critics following the trial say it highlights shrinking political freedoms in the former British colony.

A March for your rights in China is considered a public nuisance and you will be charged.

Hong Kong was illigitimately stolen through sneaky international treaty tactics. China will never harbor freedom or innovation and Hong Kong has suffered ever since China got its dirty hands back on hk. I feel sorry for all those trying to fight back. Hk doesn't like China, mainland chinese are the worst.

Always nice to see glimmers of hope for China.

sorry, but the protests they organize actually are illegal? the umbrella movement as many call it disturbed the peace multiple times by creating pedestrian traffic, starting riots and making a lot of noise. really? love and peace? that’s bullshit. they caused many major streets to be blocked off and wasted resources of the police force.

I still remember the turnover ceremony of HK to China and they were celebrating their reunification. Now, HK residents resent the mainlanders so much. And the worst part, they can't get out of that choking relationship. At least Taiwan had the sense to run away and is determined to make it.
