Australian minister: Conflict over Taiwan with China ’should not be discounted’

Australian defense minister, Peter Dutton, said conflict with China over Taiwan cannot be discounted, although, he insisted that his government will work to maintain peace. Dutton pointed out Beijing’s long-held and often reiterated objective of ’reunification’ of Taiwan with the mainland as the reason behind his assessment. He also mentioned the ’militarization of bases across the region.’
