Warren proposes new corporate profits tax

Senator Elizabeth Warren is proposing a new 7 per cent tax on corporate profits that exceed $100 million. Warren’s proposal would apply the new tax not to the totals companies already report to the IRS, but instead to the profits reported to shareholders. Her campaign estimates it would bring the government an $1.05 trillion in new tax revenues over 10 years.

Yes, let's further complicate our Byzantine tax codes! We'd generate more revenue by eliminating all of the tax credits.

Just fix the tax code. A company can't tell the IRS it made less than it tells it's stock holders. How come Congress can't fix that?

Bleeding all non-conforming big companies and offering compliant ones with tax breaks (apple, alphabet, Microsoft, Amazon, etc).... this is crony capitalism in its most authoritarian. Rid us of all Collectivists so the nation and by extension the world may be free.

This would force large companies to either spend their profits on increasing employee wages, investing in capital, or other endeavours besides buying politicians, large CEO compensation packages, or stock buybacks. Good job Elizabeth Warren.
