Seattle’s mayor responds to the threat of sending illegals to sanctuary cities

Seattle’s mayor has responded to Trump’s statement that illegal migrants will be sent to sanctuary cities. Stating Seattle is not afraid of immigrants and refugees, welcoming people who face tremendous hardships around the world. Stating a government that would weaponize a law enforcement agency to punish perceived political enemies is what we should be afraid of.

"Threaten to bus..." Why do they now consider this a "threat" when it's supposedly what they wanted all along. It's like me saying I want $10mil and all of a sudden someone gives me what I wanted. How is that person threatening me? Geeez... you'd think they know something about illegal immigration that they're not telling us.

“Seattle is not afraid of immigrants or refugees”. Well, I think that’s exactly the idea. I don’t think Trump was making a threat, just saying “since you all don’t mind...”.

Am I wrong in assuming the only people calling this a "threat" are anti-Trump? Isn't this what the left wants???

Did anyone else read the mother jones article? I hate how the Dems are always trying to reframe the debate and make it sound like Republicans are anti immigrant, and therefore by implication racists. They are not. Saying 'we welcome immigrants in Seattle, we love immigrants' as if Trump had said anything about immigrants in the first place is just a way to manipulate the argument and try to strawman their political opponents. Trump is against illegal immigration, not against immigrants or immigration in general. Republicans are against unvetted and unknown persons entering the country illegally. The issue being raised by the Repubs and Trump is one of immigration oversight and control, no one is even questioning immigration itself, rather how to administrate it. Simply stating that 'we as a country should be able to control and track who is immigrating to our country' is in no way whatsoever an anti immigrant thing to say. But Dems instead try to twist the argument so that they can play the 'youre a racist' card and avoid even having to talk about the issues

That's not a picture of Seattle's mayor... and by her statement, looks like she doesn't want illegal aliens either.

How is it a threat? IF IT IS EXACTLY WHAT SANCTUARY CITYS ARE FOR?

Why aren't they thrilled, they can all do what they voted for now? And where's this mayor's perfect response? The one I saw was pathetic.

Seattle's mayor is a joke. If anyone is interested go to Youtube and type in 'KOMO Seatlle is dying' to get the real perspective the average person in Seattle has for the mayor of Seattle. The Police force is discreetly running around telling everyone to vote the mayor and the city counsel out of office so that they can do something about deteriorating conditions.

As someone who once lived in Seattle and still commutes there for work, it's rapidly devolving into a shithole. As a positive, I think this may wake people up more quickly to the truth: enabling does NOT equal compassion.
