Asylum seekers who show credible fear not eligible for bond, rules Barr

AG William Barr said in a new ruling issued Tuesday that asylum-seekers who are able to demonstrate a ’credible fear’ and are then sent to full deportation proceedings are not eligible to be released on bond. The ruling states that a previous decision allowing for asylum-seekers to be released on bond while their case is being heard by an immigration judge was incorrect.

Good. Question: Can a future dem AG overturn this ruling? If not, how do we make this decision permanent? (SCOTUS excluded, of course)

This should significantly cut down on the high number of asylum seekers that eventually are determined ineligible from jumping bail.
