In Georgia around 300 residents have clashed with police over plans to build a new hydroelectric dam. Locals believe the plans will damage Pankisi Gorge and force them out of their homes. Dozens of people have been injured, 15 of them police, in an exchange of rocks, rubber bullets, and tear gas.
