Stop & Shop is losing loyal customers to ongoing strike

United Food and Commercial Workers union members at 240 Stop & Shop stores in 3 New England states went on strike on April 11. They are protesting cuts to health care and take-home pay in the company’s latest contract proposal. According to a study, loyal customer visits to Stop & Shop declined by 75% in the first few days of the strike. Negotiations resumed on Sunday.
