Ebola first responders threaten strike if security not improved

Health workers in one of the epicenters of eastern Democratic Republic of Congo’s Ebola outbreak threatened on Wednesday to go on strike if authorities don’t do more to protect them. Repeated attacks have threatened their service by armed militiamen who think Ebola is a conspiracy. In the latest attack, on a hospital, a senior WHO epidemiologist was killed and two others wounded last Friday.

They don't want our help. Why do we keep trying?

We will stop helping these people if you don’t protect us from these people, lol that’s fine by me.

I can't believe they have put up with this for so long, not trying to be an arsehole but some people are beyond help, because they won't at least meet you halfway.

Maybe we should stop sending aid to these countries until they can get their terrorists in check. If there is a group there that can amass enough power to have a backing and doesn't want us there, maybe we should take the hint and let them fend for themselves.
