Ex-officer sentenced to 25 years in fatal shooting of stranded motorist

Nouman Raja, a former Florida policeman, was sentenced to 25 years, convicted of manslaughter and attempted first-degree murder for shooting Corey Jones. The plainclothes officer never identified himself and acted so aggressively that Jones must have thought he was about to be carjacked or killed, say prosecutors. That caused Jones to grab a concealed weapon and run as the officer opened fire.

I'm no legal expert, but how can you get culpable negligence, and attempted 1st degree. In my mind culpable negligence is an accident that should have never happened, 1st degree is premeditated. was he planning it but it accidentally happened anyway?

THis cop is form the same place they cant count their votes Coward county. Im my day this cop would have been sent to sit on "ole Sparky" and had electric current passed through him till he was pronounced dead. The father of the slain man is a True Floridian. The cop is a transplant loser who should have got WAY more than 25 years.

this is bullshit, the only audio shows no aggressiveness and he doesn't draw until Jones has already pulled his piece, charge him for lying to investigators, take away his license for life, and move on
