People in India continue dying due to huge surge in COVID cases

A huge surge in the COVID-19 cases in India has resulted in people dying on the streets due to shortage of oxygen, causing mass cremations in makeshift facilities in the country so as to deal with the large number of dead bodies. 2,767 deaths were reported in the country in the past 24 hours but numbers are expected to be much higher as the government is accused of fudging figures.

I'm pretty sure this is because of that huge religious ceremony they had a while back, with throngs of people rubbing shoulders and dipping into the sacred rivers. Are we gonna have the usual suspects lining up to say that belief in a sky God is bad, or do they get a pass because they're not white?

The cases increase looks exactly like the testing increase, so hard to say if it's actually higher. The daily deaths are less than the usa per 100,000 in March. But it has increased. https://g.co/kgs/2ofLQf https://www.statista.com/statistics/1104709/coronavirus-deaths-worldwide-per-million-inhabitants/

India had one of the world's strictest lockdowns according to Oxford University which gave it a score of 100 out of 100. This corroborates the several dozen studies which conclude lockdowns are ineffective and only push infections into the next virus season, making it much worse, as India is now finding out. Covid is not a huge killer if sensible precautions are put in place, only if politicians are as incompetent as those we currently have.
