Newsom recall effort meets verified signature threshold

The effort aimed at recalling California Gov. Newsom has enough signatures to qualify for the ballot, data released by the California secretary of state suggested on Monday. 1,626,042 valid signatures have been collected in support of Newsom’s recall effort, which exceeds the 1,495,709 signatures required. The Recall Gavin 2020 group celebrated the news, saying ’Our work is just beginning.’

I'm glad they verified every signature against the voter roles to ensure that there were no same day registered signatures and verified every ID as they were collected. If only that was the standard for voting itself.

My money is on Newsom winning, especially with the Coronavirus starting to get under control and people having short memories.

Interesting how they’re so strict when it comes to this but it’s evil/racist/bigoted to verify signatures for voting

1,495,709 is a very specific number. Where’d they get it from?
