Fire burns part of forest that inspired Winnie the Pooh

A fire tore through an English forest that inspired the fictional home of Winnie the Pooh on Sunday. The inferno spread across nearly 50 acres of the Ashdown Forest in Sussex England. Hundred Acre Wood – the fictional home of Winnie the Pooh and friends – was inspired by Ashdown Forest. Winnie the Pooh creator AA Milne lived nearby in the 1920s while creating the children’s stories.
