BYU valedictorian comes out as proud ’gay son of God’ in graduation speech

A Brigham Young University student quoted the Book of Mormon before he came out as a ’gay son of God’ during his commencement speech. The audience cheered on Matt Easton, a political science valedictorian, as he made the announcement publicly for the first time. Easton subsequently got widespread support online.

I know we’re here to celebrate graduating higher education, but let me take a moment to reveal my sexual preference. Hot take... I don’t care who you want to fuck. It is irrelevant.

Okay, so gays just can't handle it if there is a single place where they don't receive a standing Ovation? If you want to be oppressed, go proselytize your lifestyle in Dar al Islam, otherwise stop trying to be the center of attention, you aren't oppressed.

Wow someone in 2019 stood in front of a crowd and said “I’m gay”!

He is at a religious school so what he said is really not controversial. Christians know that God loves all people whether gay or not. The only issue would be if he is implying that being gay gives him extra rights to pre-marital sex which most Christian church do not approve of - regardless of hetero or homosexual. But he does not seem to be doing that.

Congrats on being sexually attracted to other men! That's such an accomplishment. Simply amazing. OMG. And plus, doing good in school while gay? That's unheard-of! How on earth did you manage it?
